Roll Up Your Sleeves! Health Expo (May 9, 2015)

Health Expo 1Residents of the Washington, DC metropolitan area attended the Roll Up Your Sleeves! Health Expo on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 1-4 p.m at the YMCA Anthony Bowen.

At this event, attendees learned about the importance of heart health and how they can lower risk for and manage high blood pressure through lifestyle changes, including physical activity, healthy eating, and stress reduction.

This interactive event featured motivational talks on healthy living by local celebrities, healthy cooking demonstrations, fitness classes, and informational booths featuring materials and resources from local medical groups and non-profit organizations.

Thanks to our local celebrities (including WUSA9 News Anchor Bruce Johnson, Internationally-Recognized Chef and Nutritionist Chef LaLa, and Personal Trainer to the First Family Cornell McClellan) and partners (including American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, American Kidney Fund, American Society of Hypertension, DC Fire & EMS, DC Health Link, District of Columbia Department of Health, HealthyWomen, Inova Medical Group, Measure Up/Pressure Down®, MedStar Family Choice, Men’s Health Network, Million Hearts®, WomenHeart, and YMCA of Metropolitan Washington) who helped make the event a success!
